Death of Reverend Shocks Country. Drugs Involved?

Police are currently investigating whether or not drugs may have played a role in the death of mega church pastor Rev. Zachary Tims Jr., 42, who was found dead in his Times Square hotel room.

There was allegedly a white powder filled envelope found inside the shorts of Rev. Tims. Tims is the leader of the New Destiny Christian Center near Orlando, Fl. He was found lying face up on the floor of his room in the W Hotel, Friday. New York Police Department officials do not expect foul play. According to reports, no valuables were missing and his room was locked from the inside. Police say that the body showed no evidence of trauma.

The autopsy that was performed during the weekend was inconclusive while toxicology test will take weeks to complete. Drugs were a part of Tims life before he founded the church with Riva, his past wife.
Tims had four children during his marriage with Riva. The marriage ended in 2009 after he admitted to having an affair with a stripper.

“We lost one of our leaders,” said the Rev. Willie Barnes, a Baptist pastor that spoke at the service. “His ministry was very, very powerful, especially to young people.”
